LESSON Program
Overview
Are you a new rider wanting to take lessons at PSJ? We offer lessons to new riders who do not currently own or lease a horse, if they obtain the end goal of purchasing/leasing a horse and competing.
During the introduction period, new riders taking lessons are assessed based on their interest level and the direction in which they prefer to compete in. Peter and Nathalie will guide you in the direction best suited for the rider, whether that be in hunters, jumpers, or equitation.
After the introductory lesson period, students are expected to half lease, lease, or purchase a horse. Petschenig Show Jumping will help match each rider with the appropriate level horse in their desired area of competition.
A limited number of lesson horses are available for introductory level lessons and showing. Tack will also be provided for introductory level lessons, but riders should plan to purchase their own saddle. A limited number of small and medium ASTM Certified helmets are available for use during lessons. Helmet, half chaps, paddock or tall boots and gloves should be purchased within the first month of lessons. If you need any help we will be happy to assist you in choosing the right products.

Petschenig Show Jumping offers hunter, jumper, and equitation training and lessons for riders of all levels. We welcome everyone to the sport of show jumping from first-time riders through seasoned competitors.
Coaching & instruction
Working together, Peter and Nathalie’s lesson clients receive an understandable explanation of the process. Patience is key and no question is unanswered.
From beginning riders through grand prix, Peter and Nathalie can help any rider gain confidence, improve skills, and reach their competitive riding goals regionally, nationally, and internationally.
